In celebration of essential workers and all they have done to help the community in the last few months, the 2020 4th of July parade will feature health care workers, grocery store clerks, and the other local heroes that have helped “crush the curve” of the COVID-19 pandemic. You are invited to join in too! Instead of horses and wagons on Main Street, the parade of decorated vehicles and bikes will wander through old Hailey, spreading the joy throughout the neighborhoods so everyone can celebrate, even with more distance between us. The parade starts at noon on Saturday.
Before and after the parade, there will be fun events offered by Hailey businesses. Check out the arts and crafts of local makers at the Music N Me special 4th of July sale or enjoy a BBQ lunch on the patio at The Mint. The Fireworks Extravaganza starts at dusk, and can be seen from anywhere in Hailey! The 4th of July festivities may be a bit different this year as we stand a little farther from each other, but as a community we will be together celebrating the people and business that make this our home.
IMPORTANT NOTICE: The City of Hailey has passed a mask ordinance stating that all adults and children over 5 must wear a mask covering their nose and mouth in any area, indoors or outdoors, where people are gathering and social distancing is not possible. At spots along the parade route there may be many people gathering and distancing may not be possible. Please bring and wear your mask to enjoy the parade and the other 4th of July events!
Sun Valley Resort is hosting a family picnic on the Pavilion Lawn featuring live music, followed by a family-friendly movie. Bring your own, or order a gourmet picnic basket from the guest center at 208.622.2135. Stick around after the movie for the fireworks show starting at about 10 pm.
