There is no question that during any season, Sun Valley is a playground for the whole family. But, let’s talk about what is in it for the kids.

Yes. There are tons of family friendly hikes and bike trails. Check out an outdoor music festival, a weekly story time at The Community Library, or a stroll through Ketchum Town Square which offers a central gathering spot to enjoy scoops of Lee’s Ice Cream or fresh squeezed lemonade. Traveling shouldn’t throw the baby’s schedule off! For the wee ones, there are reputable babysitting services available to keep napping on track. There are also drop-in schools that offer supervised playtime and age appropriate activities. Spots book quickly so, it is best to make a reservation ahead of time. Stargazing

It’s true – on any given night in southern Idaho, you can look up to the dark night sky and be awed by a seemingly endless blanket of stars spreading as far as the eye can see. Yes, you read that right! Millions – no billions – of stars will take your breath away. You see, in October 2017, our little mountain town of Ketchum, Idaho was declared an International Dark Sky Community that is part of the 1400 square mile wide Central Idaho Dark Sky Reserve. One of only 12 designated Dark Sky Reserves in the in the world this stargazing utopia extends north to Stanley and southeast through Carey to Craters of the Moon National Monument and Preserve.
